Lesson plans implimenting learning through enquiry:
An opportunity for a DVC class to increase spatial awareness and plan effective living spaces using observation and experience.
By marking out their specified space on the playground using chalk, students were able to visualise their building floor area and 'roleplay' everyday activities to see how effective their design layouts would be.

A lesson in a series of lessons looking at the development of a sculpture in terms of aesthetics and function. Students were required to make models using a slotting system and thick card. They had to consider strength and stability while keeping the idea relevant to the brief.
Throughout this process they were encouraged to critique eachtothers work and suggest ideas for further development.

An opportunity for a junior technology class to explore the properties of a range of materials.
Through processes such as burning, scratching and soaking, the students were encouraged to observe any changes within the material's appearance, texture and qualities. They were then encouraged to think about how these processes may affect its use in every day products:
Ex. MDF becomes soft when it is in water, therefore it wouldn't be a good material to use for outdoor products..
