Secondary Yr 2 PCT Programme
A series of 4 professional development days designed to support new teachers. Tutors from the Auckland University ran workshops around many aspects of effective teaching and education in New Zealand. During these sessions, we were able to share our knowledge and experiences. It was also a good opportunity to compare approaches in different school settings.

-Meeting weekly with other beginning teachers around our professional learning journey
-Sharing strategies and reflecting on feedback given during designated meeting time and organically in other settings.

Health and Safety responsibilities
-Health and safety responsibilities include carrying out duty at designated times and being vigilant at other times
-Ensuring the safety of students, by creating RAMs and taking preventative measures such as carrying a first aid kit and reinforcing expectations.

EOTC
EOTC is an example that encompasses many aspects of responsibility.
-We gathered personal information around dietary needs, allergies and medical care
-We followed procedures such as devising RAMs forms and permission slips
-We ensured that the students were comfortable, happy and safe by organising team building activities and being responsive to student voice
