Demonstrate in practice their knowledge and understanding of how ākonga learn

i. enable ākonga to make connections between their prior experiences and learning and their current learning activities

ii. provide opportunities and support for ākonga to engage with, practise and apply new learning to different contexts

At HPSS we co-teach modules, which means that teachers from two different curriculum areas collaborate to explore a concept or context from different angles. This allows the learners to make connections and apply new knowledge in a different way.

iv. assist ākonga to think critically about information and ideas and to reflect on their learning

In hubs we analyse our hublings' learning by comparing progress reports to show growth in relation to key competencies, and academic reports to show development in curriculum areas. From this information we identify learning goals and implement strategies to create a focus.
