Today I worked with two (boy) students to help them sew bags for their big project.

They seemed to really engage with the task.

I had had one of the boys previously in a soft tech module, where he was quite disengaged and lacked confidence on the machines. Today I saw him teach the other boy how to set up the sewing machine and carry out sewing machine basics. He also exclaimed that he wouldn't mind doing this when he is older.

This was wonderful for two reasons:

One) I'm creating an environment that breaks down gender divides in Technology

For example: boys go to the workshop and girls do 'home economics'.

Two) That a student, who I believed left my class with a negative mindset, proved me wrong and that a students' attitude might not reflect their true feelings.
