1#My Being
Being warm AND demanding!
I feel that I am naturally warm but lack my demanding approach. I've been contemplating this for a while as an area of focus. I've been refering back to phrases from the growth mindset workshop with Briar such as 'I believe that you've got more potential'; which communicates an idea that you know the learner and have faith in their abilities while highlighting their need to apply themselves more.
2#My Learning
Broadening my subject area
This year, I would like to gain confidence in jewellery making and e-textiles. These are areas I would like to learn for my own sake but I also believe these particular areas can make Technology more accessible and engaging for a range of students in terms of gender, culture and subject preferences.
3#My Teaching
Having a more informed practice
My teaching so far has been primarily based on personal reflection and the observation of others. My own evolving pedagogy could be more be enhanced or accelerated by reading about the findings and strategies of other educators and education philosophers.
