Observation in the Art Class

One thing I took away from this observation was that the lesson had a real calm feel about it. This seemed to work well in this environment, and from what I observed, the students were on-task and deeply involved in their work.

I believe that this 'calm' was partly a response to the mannerisms and behaviour of the teacher. I find that I have a faster pace in my behaviour. I tend to walk quickly, occasionally speak quickly and perhaps give an impression that 'time is of the essence'.

I liked observing this calm, but wonder if it occassionally breeds lethargy. I think I need to observe more lessons of this nature.
