Wow, we've got our own logo!

I believe that the design, layout and presentation of resources in teaching can affect, not only the learner's understanding, but also their engagement. I also like to find opportunities to practise my graphic design skills and refresh my knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
Here are the logos for my courses this semester:
This is our module 'Fabricus', which looks at fabric through a Maths and Technology lens. Yesterday, one of our students noticed this on her Maths tracker and said 'Wow, we've got our own logo!'. I made sure that these are vectors, which means that they can be resized without distortion and can be read by the laser cutter. I have used it on our laser cut 'fabricus' (an abacus, with felted beads) and also the student's individual looms. Can you see the needle and thread, and the felted beads?
This is for another module called 'Diamonds are forever', which looks at jewellery through a Science and Technology lens. In terms of Technology, we focus on the social, cultural and historical aspects of jewellery, whilst Science focuses on the physical and chemical properties of metals and precious gems.
I've used the appearance of molecular structures to create the diamond reflection.
I generated this logo for my SPIN 'Signs and Signals', which looks at how the design elements and principles can be used to send certain messages. I was inspired by the purple that is used for Arduino Lilypad products, as this is a possible avenue for the students to explore in their design development. I acquired the sign language image from Wikimedia commons. This represents the 'S' in signs and indicates the this topic is about communication.
