This was a teacher exemplar which aimed at directing students away from simply cutting shapes in acrylic, but to look at manipulating it in diffferent ways and intergrating other materials.

Exploring possibilities with copper and acrylic including sewing, riveting, drilling, frosting, etching and making a patina.

I picked up these offcuts from the workshop and decided to make something 'valuable' with them. I glued and sandwiched the different layers in a vice. Once they had dried I drill a hole and used hand tools to carve and shape the pendant. The pictures show each side.

This ring and teapot pendant are products of a week long silver-smithing course at Peter Minturn. During the course, we looked at manipulating silver by bending, pressing and extruding it. We also learnt about the annealing process.

We attempted to solder our pieces together and refined our cutting and finishing skills.
